Born in 1438 of Charles 1st Duke of Bourbon and Agnes of Burgundy, daughter of Jean without fear. He is the cousin of the King of France Louis XI and the nephew of the Duke of Burgundy, Philip the good. Despite the rules of the chapter, he was elected to the bishopric of Liège by Pope Calixtus III March 30, 1456. It is dedicated to Huy July 20, 1466. This clumsy and greedy despot grows the people of Liège to revolt and is filed 22 March 1465. The armies of Philip the good defeated the Liège militias in Montenaken. The Duke receives the keys to the city and restored Louis de Bourbon in his duties. There are other revolts, Charles the Bold succeeds Philip the good. The France of Louis XI and the Burgundy negotiated a peace treaty at Péronne and the two monarchs bind for suppress the revolt of Liège. On the night of 29 to 30 October 1468, the people of Liège want to liberate the town with 600 volunteers of Franchimont. They climbed the Sainte-Walburga Hill on top of which the Burgundian camp was installed. Charles the bold destroyed the city. The country of Liège became a vassal of the Duke of Burgundy, freedoms are abolished and perron, symbol of freedom was transferred to Bruges. Later, Louis de Bourbon restores the ancient privileges of the city. Louis de Bourbon was killed August 30, 1482 in a brawl with Guillaume de la Marck which aims the Principality.
